Financial Planning for an Animation Studio
Creative studio
The Task
Build a financial system that shows investors the team knows how to plan its work and report on progress regularly.
What We Did
- Broke costs down by category: payroll with taxes, marketing, PR, festival participation, HR services, subscriptions. Payroll accounts for 75% of the budget: that fact is documented and explained, not hidden.
- Built a monthly plan of investment tranches and spending with a running balance for each month. Every month the studio can compare actuals to the plan.
- Prepared a staffing schedule for 24 positions: management and creative staff. Structured a register of civil contracts with 50+ contractors: the investor sees structure, roles, and a contract base.
Result
The studio can report monthly
There is a plan, there are actuals, there is a balance. The investor gets a table with numbers for each month, not verbal explanations.
The team looks like a business, not a project
A staffing schedule, civil contracts, a structured budget: documents of mature management. They show the investor: this team knows how to manage, not just create.
“Investors invest in people. When a creative team arrives with a detailed budget, a monthly plan, and a clear staffing schedule, that is a signal: these people know how to manage, not just create. That is exactly what needed to be demonstrated.”
